Client Journey

People Don’t Plan to Fail.
They Fail to Plan.

Financial management is a life journey, and just like any voyage to far away seas, you need to plan and prepare. Fortunately, we are there for our clients every step of the way.

The key to our philosophy is that everyone is unique. We have different dreams and goals, objectives, aspirations, and tolerances. This key principle is what gave rise to the Kelly Financial Management client journey.

Studies have shown that having a robust and well thought-out Financial Plan in place can benefit you in the following ways:

  1. Helps with your decision-making going forward and allows you to make more sensible/informed decisions with confidence
  2. Provides you with the motivation to achieve what matters
  3. Increases your quality of life by creating peace of mind
  4. Improves your financial security and independence

1. Discovery Meeting

The discovery meeting is all about you. Take it as your chance to tell us about your personal, family and business objectives, and the issues you need help with. Don’t worry about being on the spot – this is a two-way discussion, not a presentation.

This meeting will help KFM define the scope of the professional relationship, and enable us to identify where we can add the most value going forward.

During this phase, we will also disclose our remuneration model, client engagement letter and cancellation policies.

3. Analyse

At the third stage of the KFM Financial Planning Process, we will complete a full and comprehensive analysis of the details uncovered (known as soft facts) and provided (hard facts).

We will produce two key financial documents:

  1. Net Worth Statement (‘NWS’) – to understand how much capacity you have to achieve your goals and objectives.
  2. Income and Expenditure Statement – to understand how much disposable income you have to achieve your goals and objectives.

We then assess the strengths and weaknesses of your current situation.

5. Implementation

The realisation of your goals and objectives depends on the implementation of recommendations and so this stage is very important.

If you proceed with our recommendations you can have the peace of mind that an investment expert is managing your financial assets with care and due diligence. We’re committed to transparency, so will keep you informed and updated throughout the entire process.

2 . Collecting Information

Following our initial discussion, we’ll meet again to dig a bit deeper into the details.

Prior to our meeting, we will ask you to complete a client Fact-Find, which will contain hard facts about your personal and financial circumstances.

Our proactive approach ensures the optimal solution and guarantees that you get the most out of your second Financial Planning Meeting by focusing in on the things that really matter.

4. Financial Plan Presentation

This fourth stage is important and is where we can add a lot of value. We’ll meet you once more and present our recommendations produced in your Financial Planning Report, combing through the details and answering any questions you have.

No query is too small here – if you don’t understand something, ask. Together, we will decide on the best course of action which may include any of the following:

  1. Continuing on your same line of action
  2. Expanding your current course of action
  3. Changing your current course of action
  4. Taking a completely new course of action

6. On-Going Development

Financial planning is a dynamic process, and your needs will have to be regularly reviewed to ensure your plan is still robust to deal with ongoing legislative changes, significant market fluctuations and geo-political issues.

In our ongoing meetings, this is exactly what we’ll look at with you, updating your plan as needed.

1. Discovery Meeting

The discovery meeting is all about you. Take it as your chance to tell us about your personal, family and business objectives, and the issues you need help with. Don’t worry about being on the spot – this is a two-way discussion, not a presentation. We’ll ask the questions we need to and help you understand how we can assist, as well as the service your financial planner will provide.

2 . Financial Planning

Following our initial discussion, we’ll meet again to dig a bit deeper into the details. That means clarifying some specific lifestyle objectives you wish to achieve and collecting information vital for us to create your financial planning recommendations. We’ll also present a roadmap of your financial future, and discuss some of the options available to you.

3. Financial Recomenations

We’ll go away and analyse all your existing policies and investments in detail to design a suitable investment portfolio that works for you. We’ll create a digestible list of recommendations for you to follow so you can achieve the future you dream of.

4. Financial Plan Presentation

We’ll meet you once more and present all our recommendations to you, combing through the details and answering any questions you have. No query is too small here – if you don’t understand something, ask. If you give us the green light, we’ll complete the paperwork required to implement our suggestions.

5. Implementation

Implementing your plan is, again, down to us, meaning that you can have the peace of mind that an investment expert is managing your financial assets with care and due diligence. We’re committed to transparency, so will keep you informed and updated throughout the entire process.

6. On-Going Development

What’s a financial plan worth, without time to reflect and see what went well and what might need an improvement? In our annual meeting, this is exactly what we’ll look at with you, updating your plan as needed. Sometimes, things didn’t go as hoped, or there’s atax change we need to take into account. Either way, we’ll update your portfolio and return to stage five to implement your new financial recommendations.
